New Year's Celebration 2026

Last week, this year's New Year's celebration took place in and around Freiburg. For us, this gathering is always special: colleagues from different locations come together and have time to connect outside of the daily work routine.

We took the cable car up to the Schauinsland mountain, where a true winter wonderland with fresh snow awaited us. After a leisurely brunch, we hiked (some with snowshoes) towards the summit – including a spontaneous snowball fight.

For dinner, we returned to the valley in Oberried. A small group spontaneously decided to hike instead of taking the bus – a bit of an adventure at times, but everyone arrived safely and was greeted with applause at the restaurant.

Anniversary celebration: 30 years of focus on renewable energies

Not only was our company anniversary special this year (2025), but so was the guest list for our celebration: all employees from Berlin, Paris, and Freiburg were invited along with their families and partners. This event wasn't "just" an anniversary celebration, but also a thank you to everyone who makes Sterr-Kölln & Partner what it is: our colleagues, with their expertise in their daily work, but also their families, partners, and other loved ones who hold down the fort at home and support them.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day with activities like hiking, archery, a fun Olympics, and soccer, culminating, of course, in an "old versus young" match. We were treated to delicious food and drinks until late into the night, and the conversation could have easily continued for several more days.

New Year's Celebration 2025

This January, we all met in Freiburg to toast the new year. It was a varied and enjoyable day, during which our team, having a lot of fun building a "chain reaction," created an impressive collaborative result. Afterwards, we enjoyed delicious food and drinks and simply a lovely evening with current, old, and soon-to-be-new colleagues.

Trip to Berlin 2024

In April 2024, the whole team travelled to Berlin for two days. There was also a big inauguration ceremony to mark our new premises in Berlin.

Our Berlin colleagues showed us a little piece of Berlin on a walk to the Humboldt Forum. Afterwards, we had a great evening with a delicious meal at the Berta restaurant, which we hired especially for this occasion. One or two of us also enjoyed dancing :-)

We also used this trip for a joint workshop on the topic of "Sustainability at Sterr-Kölln & Partner" and are looking forward to implementing the many great results in our day-to-day work in the near future. 

Trip to Paris 2023

In February 2023, the whole team went to the French capital for two days. Our colleagues from the Paris office put together an incredible program that everyone enjoyed very much. A small excerpt: We explored the city on a fun bike ride along the banks of the Seine, stopping at the Eiffel Tower, of course. We immersed ourselves in French cuisine in a joint cooking class and tried our hand at nude drawing with guidance at the art academy. To top it all off, we were allowed to enjoy dinner on a boat while leisurely cruising along the Seine. And after docking again, the evening was not over yet ;-).

Christmas market on the rooftop

In December 2022 we celebrated our own little Christmas market on our roof terrace, wrapped up thickly. There were homemade cookies, mulled wine, roasted almonds, pizza and the matching, atmospheric decorations. And before that, it had even snowed a little.

Barbecue and concert

In the summer of 2022, the "Toten Hosen" (German band) played an open-air concert at the local fair in Freiburg. From our roof terrace we have an excellent view on the stage, so we took advantage of this for a barbecue with the families. Between the songs, the grill was running at full speed in a relaxed atmosphere.

30-year cooperate anniversary

In the summer of 2022, we were able to celebrate Klaus-Peter Sikora's 30th anniversary with the company. Quite comfortably with a joint lunch on our beautiful roof terrace.
